So 2017 is the year of realizing things *Kylie Jenner voice*

I own my time therefore I will do what I want with it. I know that may sound selfish; I'm choosing what I want to do or what I don't want to do over anyone/ anything else.

I've noticed of late I am definitely opting being on my own than going to a noisy bar, for example. Maybe I should be concerned that I'm choosing to be less involved in social events. But that's the thing- I actually don't care.

I want to spend my time with people that matter. My time is literally being wasted with anything else. People are only a part of your life because you choose them to be.

"But that's the thing- I actually don't care"

"At some point, you’ll just want to be around the few people who make you smile for all the right reasons". Well said, Marc and Angel!

I am not disregarding the importance of meeting new people and gaining new experiences by expanding your network. I am just being more careful about it. So much time is wasted on impressing others or doing things that will make others like you more. It doesn't make that much sense to me anymore.

I know what I find attractive in others is when someone is working at something. Building on making something out of themselves and striving towards goals no matter how big or small they might be. So it makes sense that I focus on doing the same.

because you choose them to be"

I've also realized that the relationships you do cherish, they need to be looked after. If you appreciate someone, you need to tell them. If something is bothering you- you need to talk about it and work it out. Things that go unsaid will remain just that; unsaid.
